Dr. Tracey Gibson
Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Pathology
Dr. Tracey Gibson graduated from the University of the West Indies (UWI), Mona in 1995 with the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.,B.S.). She subsequently obtained the degree of Doctor of Medicine (D.M.) in Pathology, in 2001, from UWI, Mona, followed by the degree of Master of Science, with distinction, in Medical Genetics, from the University of Glasgow in 2005. Dr. Gibson is currently Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Pathology at UWI, Mona, and a Consultant Pathologist at the University Hospital of the West Indies. As part of her work in the Department of Pathology, she serves as the Director of the Jamaica Cancer Registry, which is a unit within the department, and she also has the responsibility of directing the operations of the department’s Cytogenetics Laboratory. Dr. Gibson’s research interests include cancer pathology and epidemiology, molecular pathology and cytogenetics.
